The LGPS Central pool has made two high-profile appointments, with Joanne Segars to become its chair and Andrew Warwick-Thompson to become its chief executive.

Segars recently announced her departure from the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association. The Central pool, which could have combined assets of £38 billion from LGPS funds in the Midlands, said Segars will help with key appointments for executive and non-executive positions ahead of its formal launch in April 2018. Warwick-Thompson is joining LGPS Central as its first chief executive officer after stepping down from his role as executive director of regulatory policy at the Pensions Regulator.

Other recently announced people moves at LGPS pools include the appointment of Denise Le Gal as chair of the £23 billion Brunel Pension Partnership. Brunel has also made Dawn Turner, chief executive at one of its members, the Environment Agency Pension Fund, its project executive, although it still plans to appoint a permanent chief executive in due course.
