Devon County Council Pension Fund to join LPPI

Published: September 24, 2025

Devon County Council Pension Fund has become the first fund to declare for LPPI, bringing the number of orphaned funds to declare their preferred new pool to 15.

Following a meeting on 19 September, its Investment and Pension Fund Committee has approved in principle that the fund should join the pool as a shareholder and client.

Reflecting on the news, Devon County Council Pension Fund said it has been very focused on taking forward the “best of what has been achieved through Brunel” into the new pooling arrangements, adding that it’ll begin working with its LPPI and Brunel colleagues on achieving that objective.

This news comes just a day after fellow Brunel and west country-based fund Gloucestershire announced LGPS Central as its preferred pooling partner.

LPPI chief executive Chris Rule said: “We are really pleased that Devon Pension Fund has selected LPPI as their preferred pool following a thorough due diligence process.

“This decision marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration where we will work together to achieve Devon Pension Fund’s strategic goals and bring the advantages of pooling to their members, employers, and taxpayers.”
