LGPS Question Time – MiFID II, Investment Strategy for Pools and Funds

Question Time – MiFID II, Investment Strategies for Pools and Funds

The Institution of Engineering and Technology, 2 Savoy Place, London, WC2R 0BL
1pm, Wednesday 29th November, 2017

Our next Question Time debate in London is fast approaching. We will be looking at how MiFID II regulations will affect the LGPS asset pools and funds, and we discuss the implications for advisers as LGPS funds prepare for pooling. In addition to the MiFID II discussion, we will examine how the pooling process has affected strategy decisions and how the pools and funds plan to manage the process. April 2018 is beginning to loom large, and this Question Time event is the ideal place to exchange ideas on pre and post-launch hurdles and opportunities.

The afternoon seminar will consist of two sessions in a “Question Time” format, following an introduction by Chair Jeff Houston (LGA) outlining the current state of play. Each of the two sessions will open with contributions from panellists representing the asset pools and delegates will then have an opportunity to engage in what promises to be a lively question and answer debate.

The seminar is an ideal opportunity for delegates to assess the progress made so far on pooling initiatives and discuss plans for completion. Afterwards, you are most welcome to attend a drinks reception hosted at the IET.

This event will provide genuine insight into the likely shape of investment thinking for the future of the sector and will be held under Chatham House rules to encourage openness and the sharing of information.

It promises to be a thoroughly rewarding afternoon and we hope you can join us.
