Lombard Odier Investment Managers has hired Arnaud Langlois to launch a global equity long-short investment strategy with a sustainability focus.

Langlois will join Lombard Odier IM as a portfolio manager, along with senior analyst, Cyrus Azamgin, to launch the strategy in the second quarter of 2018 with $100 million in committed capital. Lombard Odier chief executive officer, Jean-Pascal Porcherot, commented: “There is high demand for long-short funds and strategies which incorporate responsible investment. Arnaud Langlois and Cyrus Azamgin have a deep understanding of how sustainability and other factors work together in a portfolio to generate alpha and we welcome them to the team.”

Langlois has 20 years’ experience in the investment industry. He previously worked at Millennium, and before that, UBS O’Connor, where he launched a sustainability long-short equity fund. Azamgin has worked with Langlois at JP Morgan, UBS O’Connor and Millennium. The new strategy is intended to complement Lombard Odier’s existing sustainability funds, including its global climate bond investment strategy and its global responsible equity strategy.
