The London Pensions Fund Authority (LPFA) has appointed Luke Webster as a new member of its board.

He brings with him experience from finance, investment and public sector management to the LPFA and currently serves as Bursar of Corpus Christi at the University of Oxford.

Webster began his career as an accountant at the London Borough of Lewisham, and has since held several senior positions in finance and investment, including as chief finance and risk officer at the LPFA and as chief investment officer of the Greater London Authority.

LPFA chair John Preston said: We’re delighted to welcome Luke Webster to our board. As a single-purpose Administering Authority, our mission is to deliver a well-run LGPS pension fund.

Our board brings together professionals from investment, local authority, and finance backgrounds, and Luke’s appointment further strengthens our governance and ability to meet our commitments.

Webster added: I’m pleased to be joining the LPFA board at such a pivotal time for the LGPS. My focus will be on supporting the LPFA and helping ensure that we continue to serve the best interests of our members and employers as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.
