Data and analysis provider MSCI has launched a new open analytics platform, MSCI Beon, for the investment industry.

MSCI said that using different data on different systems can reduce the value for data for decision-making, risk management and operational uses. To overcome this challenge, it has created MSCI Beon as an open platform that can use different sources of data, helping institutional investors with portfolio management. The platform will integrate MSCI’s content and tools for indexation, analysis and ESG with users’ own data and third-party sources. It aims to go beyond data aggregation to help users analyse data from multiple sources and with real-time reports and analysis.

MSCI head of technology and product manager, Trent Walker, commented: “Our technology aims to give users the ability to answer increasingly complex questions and innovate as their strategy, business model and the broader market evolves.” And MSCI head of analytics, Jorge Mina, added: “MSCI Beon is a testament to our mission to continuously create cutting-edge products to meet current client needs and help them adapt to changing market conditions.”
