New LGA Head of Pension and Secretary to the LGPS Advisory Board appointed
Clair Alcock, the former head of Police Pensions, has been appointed as the new head of pensions at the Local Government Association (LGA). She will succeed Jo Donnelly, who announced in December her move to the London Pensions Fund Authority as chief executive.
The LGPS Advisory Board (SAB) commented “Clair brings an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of those in charge of overseeing, managing and administering locally administered public sector schemes, having previously established the Firefighters Pension Scheme Advisory Board and national pension teams across police and fire.”
Clair, who worked at the LGA from 2014 to 2021 overseeing the Firefighters Pensions Scheme, said “I am looking forward to re-joining LGA and getting to know new and old colleagues at this highly exciting time for LGPS and the SAB.
“I’m excited to join my new team who are already highly valued for their leadership and expertise across LGPS and the firefighters pension scheme, and am looking forward to the next few months and years ahead.”
