Pantheon has announced its expansion into real estate with the launch of a new strategy that is being developed as an extension of Pantheon’s established Global Infrastructure and Real Assets platform. It will initially focus on secondaries opportunities and will look to leverage the firm’s broader experience in secondaries across private equity, infrastructure and real assets and private debt, particularly related to GP-led transactions.

Roman Braslavsky, Partner and Head of Pantheon Real Estate, and David Elliott, Managing Director, have joined the firm to establish and lead the new strategy. Both are highly experienced real estate investors who were most recently at GI Partners, a middle market private investment firm based in San Francisco. The team will be based in Pantheon’s New York office.

Pantheon believes there is a $10 billion+ annual opportunity in the rapidly evolving real estate secondaries market. It has been investing in private equity secondaries since 1988 and infrastructure and real assets since 1997. The firm has also played a market-leading role in GP-led deals across private equity and infrastructure and real assets, with $7.6 billion committed to these transactions as of June 2021.
