South Yorkshire Pensions Authority (SYPA) has completed a joint venture with Royal London Asset Management to manage a vast farmland portfolio. The strategic move involves the transfer of approximately 21,000 acres across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, and Wiltshire into the Royal London Natural Capital Fund, with SYPA retaining a 46% stake.

The £260 million transaction marks a shift in the pension fund’s agricultural strategy, aiming to enhance the environmental value of the land while securing its growth potential. South Yorkshire Pension Fund says that the collaboration can open doors for future investments from other institutions, ensuring the continued prosperity of one of the UK’s most extensive agricultural estates.
